Tate & Lyle plans to sell sweeteners business

With plans to focus more on healthy products, Tate & Lyle's intent to sell a controlling stake in its Primary Products business has been made known; further announcement is to be expected as discussions with prospective partners are still in the early stages.


Primary Products manufactures sweeteners, industrial starches, and acidulants (citric acid, malic acid, fumaric acid), commodities (corn gluten feed, corn gluten meal, corn oil, ethanol).


Food and Beverage Solutions provides ingredients and solutions that include sugar and calorie reduction, texturants, enrichment (fortification), addition of stabilisers and texture to foods, beverages, and soups, sauces and dressings.
